Benetton Formula Ltd was a Formula One racing team that competed from 1986 to 2001. The team was owned by the Benetton family, who were also the owners of the Benetton clothing company.
Benetton Formula achieved its greatest success in the late 1980s and early 1990s under the management of team principal Flavio Briatore and technical director Ross Brawn. The team won the Formula One Constructors' Championship in 1995 with driver Michael Schumacher, who also won the Drivers' Championship that year.
Throughout its existence, Benetton Formula had various drivers including Gerhard Berger, Martin Brundle, Nelson Piquet, and Giancarlo Fisichella. The team was known for its distinctive green and white livery, which became iconic in Formula One.
Following the 2001 season, the Benetton Formula team was sold to Renault and became the Renault F1 Team. Over the years, the team has undergone several rebrandings and changes in ownership but continues to compete in Formula One under the name Alpine F1 Team since 2021.
